SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference acknowledges University of the Pacific’s announcement of self-imposed sanctions, including barring its men’s basketball team from postseason competition in the 2015-16 season.

“The West Coast Conference is committed to working with University of the Pacific to help resolve this matter and create a sustainable model of compliance with NCAA regulations,” Commissioner Lynn Holzman said. “With regard to the impact of the self-imposed postseason ban on the 2016 West Coast Conference Men’s Basketball Championship, we will work with our membership to make the appropriate adjustments to the tournament bracket.”

Conference contests involving University of the Pacific’s men’s basketball team will count in determining the Conference’s final standings.  Full details about the West Coast Conference Men’s Basketball Championship will be announced at a later date and no further public comment on the subject will be made at this time.
