#WCChoops in 2016 NBA Summer League

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Five West Coast Conference basketball alumni are set to compete in the 2016 NBA Summer League running July 8-18 in Las Vegas. Kyle Collinsworth (BYU/Dallas), the 2016 WCC Player of the Year, three-time All-WCC First Team pick Stacy Davis (Pepperdine/Portland), 2015 WCC Player of the Year Kevin Pangos (Gonzaga/Atlanta) Diamon Simpson (Saint Mary’s/Cleveland) and two-time WCC Tournament Most Outstanding Player Kyle Wiltjer (Gonzaga/Houston) will all be in action in the desert. 

Gonzaga standout Domantas Sabonis (Oklahoma City) will not participate in the NBA Summer League and will compete for his native Lithuania in the 2016 Olympics. 

Brandon Davies (BYU/Detroit) competed in the Orlando Summer League, while Mickey McConnell (Saint Mary’s/Orlando), the 2010-11 WCC Player of the Year, also played in the Orlando Summer League. 

In addition to the five former student-athletes playing in the Las Vegas Summer League, former San Diego standout and newly anointed Memphis Grizzlies head coach David Fizdale, will coach the Summer League squad in Vegas.

Kyle Collinsworth – BYU (2010-16)

  • 2015-16 WCC Player of the Year
  • Two-time AP All-American (HM)
  • NCAA career (12) and single-season (6, 2x) triple-double record holder
  • Two-time All-WCC First Team selection
  • BYU’s career leader in rebounds (1047/7.5) and assists (703/5.0)
  • Averaged 6.1 assists, 1.9 steals per game during WCC games

 Stacy Davis – Pepperdine (2012-16)

  • Three-time All-WCC First Team selection
  • Pepperdine’s all-time leading scorer (1,786)
  • Ranks 24th in WCC career scoring
  • Ranks 18th in WCC career rebounding (994) 
  • 2013 WCC Newcomer of the Year 

Kevin Pangos – Gonzaga (2011-15)

  • 2014-15 WCC Player of the Year
  • 2015 AP All-American (HM)
  • Four-time All-WCC First Team selection (one of five four-time selections in league history)
  • Gonzaga’s all-time 3-point leader (322)
  • Ranks fifth in WCC history in career 3-pointers 

Diamon Simpson – Saint Mary’s (2005-09)

  • Three-time All-WCC First Team selection
  • Two-time WCC Defensive Player of the Year
  • Averaged 12.5 points, 8.8 rebounds and 1.9 blocks during four-year career
  • Saint Mary’s career leader in rebounds (1,130) and blocked shots (239)
  • Ranks in the top 10 in WCC career history in rebounds (10th) and blocked shots (fifth) 

Kyle Wiltjer – Gonzaga (2013-16)

  • 2015-16 Preseason National Player of the Year
  • Two-time AP All-American
  • Two-time All-WCC First Team selection
  • Two-time WCC Tournament Most Outstanding Player
  • Averaged 19.2 points per game during WCC games
  • Led the WCC in scoring during conference play as a senior (21.3)
