WEST COAST CONFERENCE BASKETBALL QUICK HITS

  • The West Coast Conference unveiled its 2015-16 All-WCC Teams and Major Award winners. RELEASE
  • The 2016 West Coast Conference Championship opens Thursday, March 3 at the Orleans Arena. DETAILS
  • Saint Mary’s senior Lauren Nicholson earned the final 2015-16 WCC Player of the Week honors. RELEASE
  • The 2016 West Coast Conference Hall of Honor Class was released in February. Included are three former women’s basketball standouts. FEATURE
  • The 2016 West Coast Conference All-Academic Team featured 14 honorees with GPA’s of 3.5 or higher. RELEASE
  • BYU continues to receive votes in the latest Associated Press and USA Today Coaches polls for the seventh consecutive week. The Cougars have been ranked as high as No. 22 this season.
  • One West Coast Conference program is highlighted by Charlie Creme in his latest Bracketology projection (February 22). BYU is in its sixth straight projection and jumps up one spot as a 6-seed. The Cougars have an RPI of 15 entering the WCC Tournament. 
  • The West Coast Conference is one of five leagues to have two members earn non-conference wins against current RPI Top 20 teams. Santa Clara defeated No. 7 Stanford, and BYU defeated No. 17 Texas A&M.
  • BYU secured its first WCC regular season championship with a 68-60 win against San Diego last week. The Cougars matched the 2013-14 and 2014-15 Gonzaga teams for the WCC record of 16 conference wins (16-2). The Bulldogs went 16-2 each of the last seasons since the conference went to an 18-game format with the addition of Pacific.
