WEST COAST CONFERENCE BASKETBALL QUICK HITS

  • Four West Coast Conference programs earned a spot in this week’s CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top-25 Poll. Gonzaga checked in at No. 1 followed by San Diego (7) and Saint Mary’s (9) in the top-10, while BYU was No. 21.
  • BYU senior All-American Lexi Rydalch ranks fifth among active Division I scoring leaders (1,893 points). Rydalch is in the top 10 in multiple active career offensive categories, including games (116/4th), field goals (636/7th), field goal attempts (1,483/5th), free throws (458/3rd) and free throw attempts (591/2nd).
  • San Francisco senior forward Taylor Proctor ranks T-37 among active Division I scoring leaders (1,342 points). Proctor also ranks in the top-40 among active players in field goals (500/35th) and double-doubles (19/35th).
  • Loyola Marymount senior guard Leslie Lopez-Wood ranks 11th among active Division I 3-point leaders (158), averaging 2.32 per game.
  • For the second straight season and for the third time in four years, the West Coast Conference sent two teams to the NCAA Tournament: No. 14 BYU and No. 11 Gonzaga. This marked the 10th time that two WCC teams have advanced to the NCAA postseason.
  • Since 2010 one West Coast Conference program has advanced to the Sweet-16, headlined by Gonzaga’s march to the 2011 Elite Eight. The Bulldogs have made four Sweet-16 berths since 2010 while BYU won a pair of games in 2014.
