ABOUT THE WEST COAST CONFERENCE
Formed in 1952, the West Coast Conference has become a nationally recognized and competitive force in NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics. The WCC's vision is to provide premier educational and athletic opportunities to West Coast Conference student-athletes, and to be recognized nationally for achievements in the areas of leadership, student-athlete experience, competitiveness and exposure. Characterized by the stability of its membership and its unique emphasis on combining excellence in athletics with excellence in academics, the WCC comprises 10 western, private institutions: Brigham Young University, Gonzaga University, Loyola Marymount University, University of the Pacific, Pepperdine University, University of Portland, Saint Mary's College, University of San Diego, University of San Francisco, and Santa Clara University.
The West Coast Conference sponsors 15 sports: baseball, men's and women's basketball, beach volleyball, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's golf, women's rowing, men's and women's soccer, softball, men's and women's tennis and women's volleyball. Current West Coast Conference member institutions have combined to win 33 national championships.
