2010 ZAPPOS.COM WCC BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS RESERVED SEATS SOLD OUT
All reserved seats for the 2010 Zappos.com WCC Basketball Championships at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on March 5-8 are sold out. To accommodate the demand for the event, there are now a limited number of all-session men's and women's standing room only (SRO) tickets available for purchase through the Orleans Arena box office.
The all-session standing room only packages are available for $135, and can be purchased through the Orleans Arena at 888-834-2234 or orleansarena.com. SRO tickets can be picked up at the Orleans Arena beginning on Friday, March 5 at 10:30 a.m. and entitle the bearer entrance onto the Orleans Arena concourse at tip-off to locate an empty seat(s).
In addition, single session tickets will be available at the Orleans Arena Box Office on 4500 West Tropicana Avenue in Las Vegas. Phone and internet orders will be also taken before 2:00 p.m. on the day of the game by calling 888-834-2234 or visiting www.orleansarena.com . The number of single session tickets available will depend on the quantity of unused student tickets returned by the participating institutions.
Men's single session ticket prices are $65/$50 for preliminary sessions on March 5 and 6, $75/$55 for the semifinals on March 7, and $85/$65 for the championship game on March 8. Women's single session ticket prices are $15 for the preliminary sessions on March 5-7 and $20 for the championship game on March 8. A limited number of packages including all four women's sessions are still available for $35.
WEST COAST CONFERENCE BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP TO REMAIN IN LAS VEGAS THROUGH 2012
The West Coast Conference will return to Las Vegas in 2010 for the Zappos.com WCC Basketball Championships on March 5-8 at Orleans Arena. Tickets for the event will go on sale to the public on Friday, November 13.
The West Coast Conference made a successful debut in Las Vegas last year when it sold out the Orleans Arena for the 2009 WCC Basketball Championships. The 2009 championship, which was the WCC's first-ever at a neutral site, set conference records for both total championship attendance (33,320) and single session championship attendance (7,845).
In conjunction with the success, the WCC made two major announcements relating to the basketball championships in the off-season. The WCC first signed a three-year extension with the Orleans Arena to keep the event in Las Vegas through 2012.
The West Coast Conference (WCC) and its multi-media rights partner, IMG College, later announced Zappos.com as the official title sponsor of the WCC Men's and Women's Basketball Championships. The three-year deal, effective through the 2011-12 season, marks the WCC's first-ever title sponsorship.
About the West Coast Conference
The West Coast Conference was formed in 1952 and has evolved and grown to become a nationally recognized and competitive force in Division I intercollegiate athletics, with 13 conference-sponsored sports: baseball, men's and women's basketball, women's crew, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's golf, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's tennis and women's volleyball. The WCC is characterized by the stability of its membership - only two conferences have been together longer - and its unique emphasis on combining excellence in athletics with excellence in academics.
