WOMEN'S BASKETBALL LOUELLA TOMLINSON, SMC
Tomlinson led the Gaels to a 6-3 record in December, including a 6-game winning streak with four out of the six games on the road. In December, Tomlinson shot 59.6 percent from the field (53-89), averaged 16.2 points per game and 7.1 blocks per game, keeping her atop the WCC leader board in all three categories going into January's conference action. She is second in the WCC in rebounds (9.7 rpg), maintaining that in the month of December by averaging 9.4 rpg in nine games. On December 3 in the win over Washington State, Tomlinson surpassed USD's Chris Enger (372) to become the new WCC leader in career blocks, recording 12 blocks to give her 373. In the win over Boise State on December 12, Tomlinson recorded 15 blocks, tying a WCC record of blocks in a game (Amy Lundquist, LMU vs. W. Illinois, 12/20/92). The junior was one shy of breaking the NCAA record of blocks in a game, still held by Sandora Irvin of TCU (16 vs. UAB, 1/16/05). The 12 blocks against the Cougars marked a new career high for Tomlinson, but it only lasted a few games before she broke it again with 15 blocks versus Boise State. Tomlinson posted one triple-double and four double-double's in nine games. Her triple-double came in the 80-70 victory over Washington State, finishing with 15 points, 16 rebounds, and 12 blocks. Going into January, Tomlinson leads the nation in triple-double's (3) and blocks (7.0 bpg). She is also seventh in the nation in field goal percentage (62.3). Tomlinson was named WCC Co-Player of the Week for the week of December 7-13 for her outstanding efforts against Boise State.
MEN'S BASKETBALL VERNON TEEL, LMU

OMAR SAMHAN, SMC

Junior Vernon Teel led the Lions to a 6-2 record on the month, including a road win at Notre Dame and an overtime win over Long Beach State. On the month, Teel averaged 16.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 1.88 steals per game. He finished hitting 53.4 percent from the field in the eight games and posted an assist/turnover ratio of 1.96 (51 assists vs. 26 turnovers). He earned his second double-double of his career and first of the season with 24 points and 11 rebounds in the win at Notre Dame. It was the Fighting Irish's first home loss since 2005. That win started a five-game winning streak that ended the month. He had his second double-double with 20 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists in the win at Sacramento State. He then had 24 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists in the win over Seattle to end 2009.

During the month of December, Omar Samhan averaged 21.9 points and 10.6 rebounds per game, while helping Saint Mary's post an 8-1 record, that included road wins at Utah State (snapping a 37-game home winnings streak for the Aggies) and Oregon. He also averaged 2.7 blocks per game while shooting 55.6 percent (75-135) from the floor and 79.7 percent (47-59) from the free throw line, while making 45 of his last 52 free throws (86.5 percent). Samhan was named the WCC Player of the Week twice during the month of December, the Shamrock Office Solutions Classic Most Valuable Player after averaging 19.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 7.5 blocks in wins over Binghamton and Howard, and was named to the Diamond Head Classic All-Tournament Team after averaging 18.6 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. He scored in double figures in all nine games during the month, and had four double-doubles as he had four 10-rebound games. He tied a school record and set the Shamrock Office Solutions Classic when he had nine blocks against Howard, and SMC set a school record and a WCC record with 17 blocks against the Bison. For the season, he leads the WCC in scoring (20.8 ppg), rebounds (11.0) and blocks (2.5 bpg), while ranking 18th, sixth, and 17th in the country, respectively and leads the WCC with eight double-doubles this season. For his career, he now has 1,434 points, 900 rebounds, and 197 blocks and is 10 rebounds shy of breaking into the top-20 in WCC history, and his 197 blocks currently rank fifth all-time in the WCC.

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL KIM HILL, PEP
Sophomore Kim Hill had a team-high 4.22 kills along with a remarkable .519 hitting percentage (97-16-156) during the Waves' final five matches of the season (four of which were wins). She also averaged 0.78 blocks and 4.72 points in 23 sets. She had at least 14 kills in each match and had 20 or more in three of the five matches, including a career-high 23 in the finale at San Francisco. Her big finish helped her to a .425 hitting percentage for the year, which ranks fifth in the country.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL LOUELLA TOMLINSON, SMC
In the month of November, Tomlinson led the West Coast Conference in scoring (17.2 avg/g), rebounding, (10.0 avg/g), and blocked shots (6.8 avg/g). She has recorded two triple-double's in six games, the first was on opening night in the victory over Idaho State (14 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 blocks), and the other in the win over Nevada on November 20 (18 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 blocks).
MEN'S BASKETBALL T.J. CAMPBELL, POR

OMAR SAMHAN, SMC

Senior T.J. Campbell helped lead Portland to its first national ranking in 50 years during the month of November by averaging 17.0 points, 4.8 assists and 2.0 rebounds as Portland went 5-1 for the month against top competition and finished No. 25 in the AP Poll. Campbell reached double figures in all six games, despite not attempting more than 10 field goals in any one game.

Campbell was also twice named the WCC Co-Player of the Week and earned 76 Classic All-Tournament honors after helping the Pilots to the title game with wins over UCLA and then-No. 16 Minnesota. He scored a career-high 23 points against the Gophers. The Pilots lost to No. 8 West Virginia in the championship game. Campbell shot 59.1 percent from the field, 51.7 percent from the three-point line and 85.4 percent at the foul line. The Phoenix, Ariz. native also helped Portland to wins over Eastern Washington, Seattle and Oregon. Against Seattle, Campbell logged 21 points and a career-best 11 assists.

During the month of November, Saint Mary's posted a 5-1 overall record and senior center Omar Samhan paced the Gaels by averaging a double-double with 19.2 points and 11.7 rebounds per game. His 19.2 points per game are second best in the WCC while his 11.7 rebounds per outing is tops in the conference. Samhan also scored in double figures all six games with four games of 12 or more rebounds and recorded a WCC best double-doubles in the month.

Samhan shot 60.8 percent from the floor overall and had a conference best 14 blocks (2.3 bpg). He also tied his career-high with 16 rebounds, with 17 points, in an 80-58 win over San Diego State. Four nights later, he established a new career-high with 19 points against Vanderbilt and was named the WCC Player of the Week. Against Cal Poly, Samhan scored a career-high 33 points, on 11-of-13 shooting, to help lead the Gaels to an 82-57 win.

MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY ALFRED KIPCHUMBA, POR
Kipchumba posted three quality finishes at elite events during the month, including winning the 2009 WCC Championship and setting a course with a time of 24:20 (33 seconds faster than the previous best). Kipchumba also placed eighth individually at the NCAA Pre-Nationals White Race on Oct. 17, crossing the 8K line in a time of 23:53 and helping the Pilots to a fourth-place finish. He started the month by placing sixth at the Bill Dellinger Invitational, despite falling late in the race. Portland is currently ranked No. 7 nationally after winning its 31st consecutive WCC title.
WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY STEPHANIE WILSON, SCU
Wilson finished as runner-up, the first collegitate, at the Bronco Invitational on Oct. 17. She broke the school record and the course record. Wilson's time of 16:53 smashed her personal best time by more than a minute. She followed up two weeks later by winning the WCC Cross Country, tying the WCC course record at 20:32. It was also a personal best and a school record. It was the first title ever won by a Bronco cross country runner. More impressive about her finish at the WCC meet - two years ago she wasn't on the team's seven-deep depth chart for the meet.
MEN'S GOLF SCOTT TRAVERS, SCU
Travers turned-in top 10 finishes in all three October events - placing second twice. He has moved up to 51st nationally in the latest individual rankings by Golf Week. He has led the Broncos to one of the team's most successful fall seasons in school history. In October Travers placed 2nd overall at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate on Oct. 5-6 with rounds of 71 (-1), 71 (-1), and 69 (-3). Followed that up with another 2nd place showing at the Del Walker Intercollegiate Golf Classic on Oct 22-23 with rounds of 66 (-4), 68 (-2), and 67 (-3), where he was named to the All-Tournament Team. Completed the month with his fourth top 10 finish in as many chances this fall, tying for 7th at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate on Oct. 26-27 with rounds of 70 (-1), 67 (-4), and 70 (-1).
WOMEN'S GOLF LISA MCCLOSKEY, PEP
McCloskey had a couple of strong showings at the Waves' two October tournaments. She tied for 14th at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational, and then took 29th at the Landfall Tradition. The Landfall Tradition doubled as the NCAA Preview and featured 14 of the nation's top 20 teams. She averaged 75.50 strokes in her six rounds. She is at #59 in both the Golfstat and Golfweek/Sagarin ratings systems.
MEN'S SOCCER PATRICK WALLEN, USD
Wallen lead the team to a 7-1-0 overall and conference record in October as well as a 3-1-0 record at home and an undefeated 4-0-0 mark on the road. He finished with four goals and three assists for 11 points. He recorded 19 shots and 10 shots on goal for a .526 SOG%. Wallen had two game winning goals, the first on October 4 vs USF at Torero Stadium in their WCC opener (with a man on, jumped with his back at the goal connecting with a header re-directing it to the upper corner) and the second on October 16 vs Saint Mary's at home (In the first 45 seconds, leaped and connected on a header which sailed over SMC goalkeeper towards the far post in the top left corner of the net). His third goal was at home against Loyola Marymount and his fourth goal was on the road against LMU. Wallen tallied one assist at Portland and two at Loyola Marymount. He's been involved in seven of the team's 17 goals in October and was a key factor in USD entering major national polls as a ranked team.
WOMEN'S SOCCER DANIELLE FOXHOVEN, POR
Foxhoven scored 15 goals and added five assists to lead the No. 2 ranked Portland Pilots to a 7-0-0 record for the month. She was named the WCC Player of the Week in three of the four weeks in October and was the Soccer America National Player of the Week on Oct. 13 and Oct. 27. Foxhoven became the only player in UP history with two four-goal games in the same season, recording four goals and an assist vs. both Gonzaga on Oct. 10 and San Francisco on Oct. 25. She also had a hat trick vs. Montana on Oct. 2. Foxhoven leads the nation in goals and points this year.
WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL SHANNON LOWELL, SMC
Lowell was huge for the Gaels in October, and was the driving force behind their 8-1 month. She was named the WCC Player of the Week on for her efforts against LMU and Pepperdine on 10/28 and 10/31. For the month she hit an astounding .397, notching 95 kills, on 199 attempts. She hit over .350 in six of the nine matches the Gaels played. She also notched nine aces, 18 digs, and led the team with 45 total blocks. Lowell averaged 2.79 kills per game, and 1.41 blocks per game. She recorded her first double-double of the season against Santa Clara on 10/8, recording 14 kills and 11 total blocks. In the match against Gonzaga she notched a season-high 18 kills on 24 attempts for a career-high .667 hitting percentage. In the five set match against Pepperdine, Lowell notched 17 kills on 34 attempts with no errors for a .500 hitting percentage. She also notched five total blocks. She was at her best when the Gaels needed her most in that match, notching the final two kills and a block for the Gaels in the fifth set to seal the win.

MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY ROBBIE REID, SCU
Reid set the school record at Stanford Invite, finishing 10th. 24:30 (8K). He currently has the second fastest time of the month in the WCC for an 8K. Reid also had a 10th place finish at the Hornet Jamboree (20:14).
WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY STEPHANIE WILSON, SCU
Wilson won the Sac State Invite on Sept. 12. She ran a 17:23 to win her first career college cross country meet. She then set the school record for a 6K (20:57), finishing 10th in the Stanford Invitational last Saturday. She is the first female in Bronco history to run a 6K under 21 minutes. At Stanford, eight of the top 15 teams in their region and Division II powerhouse Chico State, who is ranked in the top five nationally, were entered in the women's race.
MEN'S GOLF JOSH ANDERSON, PEP
Anderson tied for ninth place at the Waves' only tournament in September, the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate. He shot a 3-under 213, which included two pars and a final-round 3-under 69. He also had 12 birdies in the event and 48 at par or better. The tournament also featured three top 30 teams and six from the top 50.
WOMEN'S GOLF TAYLOR KARLE, PEP
Karle had two top five finishes, leading Pepperdine to team victories at the first two tournaments of the fall season and the #2 national ranking in the Golf World/NGCA poll. She took fifth at the Golfweek Conference Challenge and third at the Dick McGuire Invitational. She is averaging 71.50 strokes per round and four of her six rounds were below par. Individually, she is #17 in the Golfstat rankings and #20 by Golfweek/Sagarin.
MEN'S SOCCER RAFAEL BACA, LMU
Baca started the season with a bang and hasn't slowed down since, leading the WCC in goals (5) and points (10) through the first month. A team captain and Hermann Trophy candidate, Baca has been one of the catalysts to LMU's 5-3-0 start that returned the Lions to the national rankings for the first time since 2006. He opened the 2009 campaign with both goals in the Lions' 2-1 season-opening win at San Diego State that snapped the program's 18-match road winless streak. On September 13, he scored the first goal in a 2-1 upset at #6 UC Santa Barbara that put the Lions into the top-25 for the first time this year. The following week, he had his second multi-goal outing of the season, scoring twice, including the game-winner with eight minutes left, as LMU upset #5 Dartmouth at the San Diego Nike Classic. That performance netted him his first-ever WCC Player of the Week honor and a place on the Soccer America Team of the Week. Thanks in part to Baca, the Lions posted their best non-conference season since 2004.
WOMEN'S SOCCER MICHELLE ENYEART, POR
Enyeart led the No. 3 ranked Pilots to a 6-1 record in September, including two wins over ranked opponents. Enyeart scored six goals with three assists during the month to lead Portland with 15 total points. She was named the TopDrawerSoccer.com National Player of the Week on Sept. 14 after leading the Pilots to the Nike Invitational title with wins over No. 11 Illinois (4-1) and Miami (1-0). Enyeart recorded her first career hat trick against Illinois and scored the game-winner against Miami to take the Most Outstanding Offensive Player of the tournament award. She also earned WCC Player of the Week and unanimous national team of the week honors for her efforts. Enyeart moved into Portland's career top five in points (117) and goals (42) this September.
WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL SARAH MANDALA, USF & ALI TROOST, USD
Mandala led USF during September with 10 double-figure kill outings (hitting 10+ in each match of the month), including four with 20+ kills. Mandala recorded 26 kills twice - 26 against San Diego State and against against then-No. 13 Stanford, while also adding 25 against Alabama and 24 versus Cal State Bakersfield. During September, the native of San Dimas posted three double doubles and fell just a dig short on two other occasions. To close out the month, Mandala reached a milestone against Cal State Bakersfield. In the final point of the match, Mandala recorded her 1,000th career kill. With the point, she became the ninth player in USF history to reach the benchmark, and just the third to do so as a junior. In addition, she reached 1,000 in 265 matches, making her the fastest Don to accomplish the feat. Currently, Mandala leads the Dons and the WCC with 237 kills, averaging 4.94 per set. The average propelled her to second place in the Division I this week.

Troost has been a HUGE reason USD has posted a 7-2 record. She has led the team with 115 kills, is hitting at a .361 clip, is second on the team with 58 digs, has posted a career-high 23 kills, along with 13 digs to post her first double-double of the season in a win over No. 12 UC Irvine. She has helped catapult USD to a season-high seven match win streak, and she was named the MVP of the Denver/Colorado Invitational, not to mention earned one WCC POW award. For the month she is ranked fourth in both kills per set (3.29) and hitting percentage.
