West Coast Conference Well Represented at NCAA Cross Country West Regional

STANFORD, Calif.,--Loyola Marymount, Pepperdine, Portland, Saint Mary's, San Francsico, Santa Clara, and San Diego all sent squads to compete at NCAA West Regional, with both Pilots squads having impressive showings.
MEN'S RECAP The Dons had the next best team finish for the West Coast Conference, earning a 16th place finish, which the highest place finish in program history at the Regionals. San Francisco ran a young crew of five freshmen and two sophomores, led by 2008 WCC Freshman of the Year Ganbileg Bor, who finished in 30:30.26 for a 38th place finish. Bor was the fourth fastest freshman at the race and his time was a personal best. Loyola Marymount finished just behind San Francisco, ending up in 17th place with 141 points. The Lions were led by junior Brian McDonald, who finished in 61st place in a time of 30:57.27. McDonald was closely followed by senior Trevor Wiseman. who finished in 63rd place in a time of 31:03.87. Santa Clara finished in 21st place with 584 points and was led by Robbie Reid, who finished 69th at 31:14.35, while Pepperdine finished 24th and was led by Cole Feldman, who finished in 32:07.47. Saint Mary's rounded out the WCC schools with a 25th place finish, led by Nick Shea, who finished in 32:16.77. WOMEN'S RECAP Loyola Marymount was the next highest finisher for the WCC, ending up in the 16th spot with 413 points. The Lions were led by 2008 WCC Champion Tara Erdmann, who finished 14th overall in 20:22.53, the highest finish for all WCC runners at the meet. 2008 WCC Freshman of the Year, Brieanna Delaney was the next highest finisher for the Lions in 86th place with a time of 21:56.24. San Francisco finished just behind Loyola Marymount in 18th place, with 467 points. The Dons were paced by senior Michelle Born, who finished 58th in 21:25.52. Sophomore Laurel Kleiber was close behind earning a personal record with a time of 21:37.09 (65th). Santa Clara finished in 19th place, with 469 points and were led by Veronica Vazquez, who finished 63rd at 21:36.62, the second-best ever Bronco women's finish. Pepperdine finished in 22nd place, led by Chelsea Wishard with her fastest 6K time of the season at 21:24.41. San Diego rounded out the competition for the WCC in 25th place and were paced by Liz Ramos, who finished in 22:05.42, for 95th place. 2008 USTFCCCA All-West Region
