SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- LMU captured the Triton Invitational title last week, while six WCC teams saw action at the Stanford Invitational on Sept. 29.

WCC QUICK HITS

  • The Player of the Month for September is Loyola Marymount's Sheree Shea. Shea led the Lions to four top-four finishes in September, including a team and individual win at the CSU Fullerton Mark Covert Classic.

  • Six WCC teams saw action at the Stanford Invitational (9/29), with LMU finishing a conference-best sixth place overall. The Lions were led by senior Sheree Shea's seventh place individual finish, another WCC-best. San Francisco was close behind, finishing in 12th place. Santa Clara, San Diego, Saint Mary's and Pepperdine also competed, finishing in 19th, 20th, 23rd, and 32nd places, respectively.

  • BYU traveled east to Kentucky to take part in the Greater Louisville Invitational (9/29). The Cougars finished in 14th place, led by Rachel Stewart and Kathryn Vidmar.

  • Gonzaga's next stop found them in Springfield, Ore. for the Bill Dellinger Invitational (9/29). Lindsey Drake led the Bulldogs to a third place team finish, while earning a 13th place finish individually.

  • Portland also found themselves away from home as they saw action at the Roy Griak Invitational (9/29). The Pilots finished in sixth place, led by Gina Paletta.

  • Loyola Marymount brought home another victory, their second of the season after finishing first at the Triton Classic (10/6). San Diego also competed, finishing in 17th place.

  • Four WCC teams continue to appear in the USTFCCCA Regional Polls: BYU - 5th (Mountain), San Francisco - 5th (West), Portland - 9th (West), Gonzaga - 14th (West). San Francisco is also ranked 20th in the national poll.
