CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL 

SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference is pleased to announce the 2016 Cross Country All-Academic Team. This team is a first year honor to for nine of the 10 members highlighting the competitive nature of this accolade, the high caliber of competition within the conference and the continued academic excellence of the member institutions.   

Gonzaga's Jessica Mildes makes her second consecutive appearance on the first team this season. All told, 35 nominated women's cross country student-athletes posted a GPA of 3.50 or better, 25 of which recorded a mark of 3.75 or higher. 

An unprecedented five WCC student-athletes posted a perfect 4.00 GPA: Gonzaga's Mildes, Portland's Parkes Kendrick and San Francisco's Weronika Pyzik, Tatjana Schulte and Charlotte Taylor. Kendrick was an WCC Women's Soccer All-Academic selection in 2014. 

At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to her team.
