San Francisco's Charlotte Taylor Captures October WCC Women's Runner of the Month
NCAA Track Champion won WCC Championship individual title
SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has announced the WCC Women’s Runner of the Month for October.
WEST COAST CONFERENCE WOMEN’S RUNNER OF THE MONTH (OCTOBER): CHARLOTTE TAYLOR, SR. – SAN FRANCISCO
In San Francisco’s two races during the month of October, senior Charlotte Taylor turned in a pair of strong performances. At the Nuttycombe Invitational, one of the most competitive regular season races of the year, the 2017 NCAA Track Champion finished third overall and first for USF in a highly competitive field. Her time was 19:40.2.
In the next race of the month, the West Coast Conference Championships, Charlotte blew the competition away, finishing first and winning the individual WCC Championship award. Her time of 19:10.5 was a course record, beating the old record by more than 40 seconds. Her time was also the fastest 6k time in WCC Championship history. She finished twenty seconds ahead of the second-place finisher and San Francisco won the WCC Team title, as well.
