Saint Mary’s Jock Landale Named WCC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week
All-American averaged 26.0 points, 11.0 rebounds as the Gaels moved to 13-2 after wins against LMU & at BYU
SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named its Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for January 1, 2018.
WEST COAST CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – JOCK LANDALE, SR., C – SAINT MARY’S
All-American Jock Landale continued to showcase his dominant self for Saint Mary's (13-2, 2-0 WCC) after leading the Gaels to their eighth consecutive win, and 2-0 start in conference play. In the wins over Loyola Marymount and BYU, Landale averaged 26 points, 11 rebounds and 73.3 percent (22-30) shooting from the floor.
In a win against the Lions, Landale scored 21 points and collected nine rebounds in 30 minutes of action in the 87-59 win.
The 6-11 Australian center led the Gaels with 31 points and 13 rebounds in the comeback, overtime thriller in Provo, Utah. Landale connected on a whopping 13-of-15 from the field against the Cougars (.867). The Saint Mary’s win in Provo was the fourth straight victory in the series. Landale leads the team, averaging 21.8 ppg and 9.8 rpg.
This is Landale’s third weekly honor of the season and second straight.
