SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- Bay Area rivals collide Wednesday night, as defending WCC champion Saint Mary's visits San Francisco (7 p.m. PT, CSN California). On Thursday, three games grace the slate, including No. 7 Gonzaga at Loyola Marymount (8 p.m. PT, ESPN2). Two nights later, the Zags play at San Diego (8 p.m. PT, ESPNU).
WCC QUICK HITS
In the latest NCAA RPI report (Jan. 21), the WCC has four teams in the Top 100: Gonzaga (8), BYU (43), Saint Mary's (61), and Santa Clara (85).
Home court advantage certainly helps, but it doesn't mean everything. Entering this week's play, the home team has won just 16 of 32 WCC games in 2013.
The 2013 West Coast Conference Basketball Championships in Las Vegas are sold out. Limited single game tickets are expected to be available on game day at the Orleans Arena box office.
This week's WCC Game of the Week features San Francisco at Pepperdine at 2:30 Saturday. The contest will be preceded by "WCC This Week," and can be seen live on Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Comcast SportsNet California, and later Saturday on ROOT Sports.
The West Coast Conference is one of two conferences (Big Ten) with two of the nation's top 10 shooting teams. Gonzaga (51.1%) is second and Saint Mary's is eighth (49.5%).

Only five Division I teams have won at least 25 games in each of the last five seasons. Three of those teams (BYU, Gonzaga, Saint Mary's) call the WCC home. The other two: Duke, Kansas.
