SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference has announced its Men's Basketball Player of the Month award-winner for January 2013.

KELLY OLYNYK, R-JR., C, GONZAGA
Gonzaga redshirt-junior center Kelly Olynyk is the West Coast Conference Player of the Month for January 2013, marking the second straight month the Canadian has been recognized with the award. Olynyk averaged 21.1 points per game last month, connecting on 64.5% of his field goal attempts (60-for-93). He pulled down 7.5 rebounds per game, and shot 45-for-58 from the free throw line (77.8%) as the Bulldogs posted an 8-1 record for the month. Olynyk scored a career-high 33 points in a win at Santa Clara, and followed that up with a 31-point effort in a victory over Saint Mary's.
Also last month, Olynyk was named to the Oscar Robertson Trophy midseason watch list and was selected to the CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-District 8 team with a 3.53 grade point average.
