Saint Mary's Jock Landale Named USWBA All-American
2018 WCC Player of the Year averages 21.4 points & 10.3 rebounds as a senior

ST. LOUIS — For only the second time in program history, Saint Mary’s will have a player named to the United States Basketball Writers’ Association (USBWA) All-American Team, as senior center Jock Landale has been named to the Second Team, it was announced today.
The two-team list features the ten best players in all of college basketball.
The 2017-18 WCC Player of the Year, Landale ranked among the best collegiate centers this season while averaging 21.4 points and 10.3 rebounds per game in 33 games this season. The big man dominated down low with a 64.0 shooting percentage and played in over 33 minutes per contest.
The only other Gael to be named to the USBWA’s All-American Team was Tom Meschery in 1961.
Other notable names on this year’s All-American Team include DeAndre Ayton (Arizona), Jalen Brunson (Villanova), and Trae Young (Oklahoma).
