SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- As December hits its mid-point, WCC teams continue their race for conference play.

WCC QUICK HITS

  • Saint Mary's is one of two teams nationally to rank in the top 20 in both field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense. The Gaels are ninth in shooting (50.6%) and 19th in FG pct. defense (36.7%). Kentucky is the only other team to be in the top 20 in both categories (14th in FG % and 4th in FG % defense).

  • West Coast Conference teams continue to rack up wins against their neighbors from the Pac 12. WCC teams are 5-4 against Pac 12 opponents (conference breakdown on page two). This week, Gonzaga takes on Arizona in Seattle, and Portland visits Utah.

  • Only eight Division I teams have won at least 25 games in each of the last four seasons. Three of those teams (BYU, Gonzaga, Saint Mary's) call the West Coast Conference home.

  • San Francisco's Angelo Caloiaro is the WCC Player of the Week for December 12. Caloiaro scored a career-high 29 points on 8-of-11 shooting in the Dons' victory over Pacific.

  • Seven members of the 2011 All-WCC Team were named to this year's Preseason All-West Coast Conference Team.

  • The WCC's weekly web video show, "The Road to Las Vegas," returns to WCCsports.com next month. Also in January, WCC Live, the popular Internet talk show returns. Look for more information coming soon!
