Dons Open Spring With Farms Invitational Win

RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. – Trailing four shots on the final hole, the University of San Francisco men's golf team came roaring back going eagle, birdie, par, par to win The Farms Invitational, hosted by San Diego on Tuesday at The Farms Golf Club. 
 
USF had four golfers finish in the top-25 with Soren Lind and Tim Widing both finishing in the top-10.  The Dons finished the tournament scoring a 7-over 871 (292-288-291) in the second round USF finished with the team low score of 288 and did enough to capture the overall team title topping top-25 teams Santa Clara and UCLA.
 
Lind was electric on Tuesday.  The freshman finished the tournament tied for fourth after recording 1-under 215 (73-71-71).  After starting the third-round double bogey, par, bogey, he carded four birdies on the front nine and closed out the tournament with an eagle on the par-5 18. 
 
Widing was equally sharp, finishing tied for seventh with a 1-over 217 (77-68-72).  In the final 36 holes, Widing recorded three eagles and six birdies.  In the second round he recorded the lowest round for the Dons, with a 4-under 68. 

In 17th was Toby Briggs who finished with a 4-over 220, after scoring 69 on day one he went 79-72 over the final 36.  Highlighting his play on day two was his eagle on a par-5 ninth. Henry Chung finished tied for 22nd after going 6-over 222.  Chung's second round was the third lowest 18 holes by the Dons on the tournament, carding a 2-under 70. Alex Chin finished tied for 61st with a 23-over 239.
