Men's Golf Travels to San Diego for 2006 Callaway Golf Invitational on Monday

Moraga, CA - The Saint Mary's will travel to San Diego to participate in the 2006 Callaway Golf Invitational presented by The Farms Golf Club, on Monday and Tuesday, Marc 13-14. The 15-team field will tee off beginning on Monday morning at 8:00 a.m. with a shotgun start. Thirty-six holes will be scheduled for Monday, with the final 18 holes slated for Tuesday morning beginning at 7:30 am.
The tournament, which is hosted by the West Coast Conference opponent San Diego, will so include Cal, Colorado State, Hawaii, Long Beach State, Nevada, Oregon State, San Diego State, San Jose State, UC Davis, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara and Utah.
Saint Mary's will travel to San Diego with the same five players that competed in SMC's last tournament, the Lexus Naples Invitational when the Gaels posted an eighth place finish with a 54-hole score of 884 (+20). The team will include junior Chadd Cocco and sophomores Mike McRae, Josh Kelley, Russell Yu and Brett Mormann.
The Farms Golf Club is located in Rancho Santa Fe and is one of the top courses in San Diego. The par-72 layout plays to 6,911 yards with a 73.9 rating and 143 slope. The Farms Golf Club was originally built in 1988 by Pete Dye and later remodeled in 2000 by the team of John Fought and Tom Lehman. The private facility is located in the ruggedly beautiful terrain of Rancho Santa Fe, one of San Diego's most prestigious communities.
