Gonzaga, Saint Mary's & San Francisco Earn GCAA All-Academic Accolades

Norman, OK --- After strong play at last year's WCC Golf Championships, Gonzaga, Saint Mary's and San Francisco went on to receive GCAA All-Academic honors for their performances in the classroom. Gonzaga also earned President's Special Recognition honors for putting together a GPA of 3.5 or better. These programs were three of 82 total teams that submitted GPAs of 3.00 or higher and earned All-Academic Team recognition. Of those teams, 49 were Division I institutions. To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors a college of university must submit the grade points earned and hours attempted for each player on its official squad list for the academic year. DePaul (Division I), Maryville (Division II), Carnegie Mellon (Division III), Ohio Dominican (NAIA), Frank Phillips (NJCAA DI) and South Mountain (NJCAA DII) have been named Academic National Champions for their respective divisions announced the GCAA. DePaul posted the highest recorded team GPA with 3.66. A total of 113 teams submitted GPAs of 3.00 or higher and earned All-Academic Team recognition. Belmont, Detroit Mercy, East Carolina, East Tennessee State, Georgia Tech, Gustavus Adolphus, Ohio Dominican, Rice, SCAD, Seton Hall and St. Mary's (Texas) were also accorded President's Special Recognition status for earning team GPAs of 3.50 or better.
