Los Angeles, CA - Looking for that perfect gift? Looking for something to do this holiday season with friends and family? Loyola Marymount Athletics and LMULions.com has a little of everything this holiday season - ranging from a holiday basketball tournament to online shopping and auctions featuring gifts from a Kobe Bryant autographed basketball to pieces of history from Gersten Pavilion.
As the end of the 2007 calendar year approaches, the official online home of LMU Athletics - www.LMULions.com - has been going through many changes. These changes include many new features and a complete redesign which will launch in December. While the redesign has yet to launch, many of the new features are already up and running, just in time of the holidays.
The LionsFund Official Online Auction, LMU Photo Galleries and the LMU Official Online Store are up and running and offer plenty this gift giving season. The LMU Photo Gallery now offers photos for sale through Pictopia. A majority of LMU Athletics' photographs are now available for purchase. In addition, the LMU Online Store has gone through a major redesign and offers all the official merchandise offered to the teams through adidas.
On the LionsFund Auction this December are new items to bid on. Offered this month are Certified Gersten Pavilion Bleacher Sections, the Hank's House Banner, a Kobe Bryant Autographed Basketball and a Coach of the Game Experience with the LMU Men's Basketball team.
Own a piece of history with the Gersten Pavilion Bleacher Section. This summer the bleachers were replaced and you can buy a piece of the original bleachers that were part of some classic moments in sports history. The bleachers were a part of the 1982 Olympics, the highest scoring game in NCAA history and the events of the 1989-90 LMU basketball team. There are only 100 sections available, so go online today to get your piece of history.
More history is also available through the auction. Also replaced this summer were all the banners in Gersten Pavilion, including the original Hank's House Banner that hung in the rafters of the Pavilion in honor of the late All-American. The original banner is available online.
Be a part of LMU's basketball future with the Coach of the Game experience. Be a guest member of the Lions for the West Coast Conference opener against Gonzaga on Jan. 12, 2007. Attend pregame shoot-around, pregame meal and then sit on the bench for the Lions rematch with WCC champ Gonzaga. LMU men's basketball fans now have the opportunity to bid on the 2007-08 "Coach of the Game" through the LionsFund Auction for the Lions' WCC opener against 14th-ranked Gonzaga. As "Coach of the Game," you and your guest will experience a pregame catered meal with the LMU team and coaching staff in Gersten Pavilion on game day. Winners will also receive access to the pregame shootaround, access to the locker room for pregame, halftime, and postgame talks, two seats on the team bench for the game, and one VIP parking space in the Gersten Pavilion parking lot.
Also available online is the Bryant basketball as part of the LionsFund auction. The proceeds from all auction items go to LionsFund. LionsFund gifts assist to provide the resources needed for LMU Athletics to achieve the highest level of success both athletically and academically, and are critical in the LMU Athletics Department goal of Building Champions.
After all that, you can get tickets to all LMU sporting events. This holiday season there will be plenty of basketball action as the men's basketball team will be taking on Mississippi State on Dec. 19, Wagner on Dec. 22 and Sam Houston State on Dec. 30.
