SAN BRUNO, Calif. - The West Coast Conference announces its men's tennis weekly honors for singles and doubles competition for March 4, 2014.

MEN'S TENNIS SINGLES PLAYER OF THE WEEK
FRANCIS SARGEANT, JR., BYU
In his first season playing No. 1 singles, junior Francis Sargeant has led BYU by posting an 11-1 dual record in 2014 and a 23-6 overall record (including fall play). The BYU captain led the Cougars to a 7-0 victory over Idaho by downing Jose Bendeck in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.

He has wins against four nationally-ranked opponents in No. 87 Slim Hamza of Utah, No. 54 Andy Bettles of Boise State, No. 86 Henry Craig of Denver and No. 124 Nikita Fomin of George Washington. The captain has also worked his way into the all-time top five in singles winning percentage at BYU with a career record of 76-30 (.717).

MEN'S TENNIS DOUBLES TEAM OF THE WEEK
JOHN LAMBLE/ILYA OSINTSEV, SANTA CLARA
John Lamble and Ilya Osintsev lifted Santa Clara to a WCC-opening victory against Gonzaga and remained unbeaten in dual matches in the process. The Bronco duo topped Jack Schoebel and Muzeen Ismath, 8-6, to clinch the doubles point for Santa Clara.

With the win, the duo improved to 8-1 overall on the campaign and dating to last year, the tandem has been nearly unstoppable, winning 13 of 14 matches, with the lone loss coming in a tiebreaker during the fall season. They have won 12 consecutive dual matches dating back to 2013.

This is the pair's third season playing together as Santa Clara No. 1 doubles team, and the two only seem to be getting better over time. The duo earned WCC Doubles Team of the Month two years ago, WCC Honorable Mention last year, and the sky seems to be the limit for these two in 2014. The Gonzaga win was the pair's 30th together, which ranks third in school history.
