Gaels Junior McKay Named WCC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named its Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for November 13, 2017.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – MEGAN MCKAY, JR., F – SAINT MARY’S
Megan McKay scored 22 points on 10-for-13 shooting and had a game-high 11 rebounds as the Gaels beat Pac-12 Conference member Washington State Sunday in their 2017-18 home opener. McKay started the game a perfect 8-for-8 shooting and spread her scoring out evenly (10 points in the first half and 12 in the second) to help the Gaels come from behind in the second half.

McKay also added 17 points on 7-for-11 shooting at No. 20/25 California in the season opener on Friday.

For the week, McKay averaged 19.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals while shooting an impressive 70.8 percent in two games against Pac-12 opponents.
