Gonzaga Claims Third Consecutive WCC Rowing Championship

SACRAMENTO - Gonzaga repeated as the West Coast Conference champions for the third consecutive year after claiming wins in all three races to claim the maximum 42 points.

The Zags started the day with a win in the I Four at 7:10.15 before also claiming a win in II Eight at 6:36.32. Leading San Diego by three points heading into the final race, Gonzaga left nothing to chance by prevailing in the I Eight with a time of 6:25.76.

Gonzaga also claimed three of the four All-WCC major awards, claiming Newcomer of the Year, Coxswain of the Year and Coach of the Year. San Diego's Uche Anyanwu was picked as the WCC Rower of the Year.
