Loyola Marymount, San Diego Claim WCC Softball Weekly Honors
Taylor Spence (USD) and Linnay Wilson (LMU) are honored
SAN BRUNO, Calif. - San Diego junior outfielder Taylor Spence and Loyola Marymount freshman pitcher Linnay Wilson have been named the West Coast Conference Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
Spence earns the honor after hitting .500 on the weekend, going 10-for-20 at the plate with three runs and 2 RBI. The junior slugged .524 and also was a perfect 3-for-3 on stolen bases to lead the Toreros to three wins on the week.
Wilson had a big week in the circle for the Lions, posting a 2-0 record in three appearances. She posted a 0.78 ERA in 18 innings pitched, including a three-hit shutout victory over Hawaii. She scattered just 10 hits on the week while striking out 20 batters and issuing just three walks.
