SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- Sophomore Corinne Quiggle and freshman Skylar Caputo have been instrumental to the Waves' success this April, amassing a 9-1 record over opponents throughout the month.  The pair went 8-1 from the number three slot and 1-0 in the number four slot, while amassing eight two-set victories and one three-set win en route to WCC Beach Pairs of the Month honors for April.

The duo went 4-1 against nationally ranked opposition in the month, collecting wins over No. 6 Arizona, No. 6 Long Beach State twice and No. 1 USC.

Quiggle and Caputo led Pepperdine to the first-ever West Coast Conference Championship title at the end of the month, and ultimately a bid to the inaugural NCAA Beach Volleyball Tournament.  From the number three slot in the WCC Tournament, the pair first put down Saint Mary's Alexis Salmons and Mandi Wilkerson with a 21-17, 21-19 decision to clinch the overall win in the opening round for the Waves.  Then in the semifinals against Wells Fargo PCH Cup rivals LMU, the duo dominated Jamie Lea and Tatiana Schange en route to a 21-17, 21-11 victory to once again clinch the overall win and send the Waves to the championship match-up.  While playing the Gaels for the crown, Quiggle and Caputo were the second Waves to finish in the 5-0 sweep, amassing a 21-11, 21-13 win over Salmons and Wilkerson that would eventually lead the team to championship status.

Also in the month, the pair put down USC's Jenna Belton and Abril Bustamante 23-21 and 21-19 on the road from the number four position.  They bested Kobi Pekich and Sammee Thomas of sixth-ranked LBSU twice, first with a 21-18, 21-17 result and then with the 18-21, 21-19, 15-10 victory.  Against sixth-ranked Arizona, the pair downed Olivia MacDonald and Sam Manley with a 21-18, 21-13 final mark.
