(San Diego, CA) - USD women's tennis player Samantha Mouly (Paris, France) received some good news recently when she was named the 2007 West Coast Conference Freshman of the Year. She was also named to the WCC First Team for singles. Playing both No. 2 and No. 3 singles for the Toreros this season, she finished with an overall record of 11-7. She finished 6-5 at the No. 2 spot, and a solid 5-2 at No. 3 singles. She also helped lead the Toreros to a 3rd place finish in the recently played WCC Championships. In the first round she won her singles match, then teamed up with Helene Lindstrand for the clinching doubles victory in the team's 4-3 win over USF.
