Malibu, Calif. - The Pepperdine women's tennis team competes in two tournaments this weekend as it nears the end of fall competition. Senior Merve Asimgil, junior Eva Dickes and sophomores Sylvia Kosakowski and Bianca Dulgheru will compete in the 2005 ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Tennis Championships hosted by The Ohio State University beginning November 3-6 at the Racquet Club of Columbus.

Dulgheru earned an at-large bid in singles play, while she and teammate Dickes also earned an at-large bid in doubles. Asimgil and Kosakowski won an automatic bid into the tournament after winning the West Regional Championships in doubles on October 23.

In the first round of singles action, Dulgheru faces Ashley Bentley of Alabama and in the first round of doubles Dulgheru and Dickes will meet Helena Besovic and Anna Sydorska of TCU. Asimgil and Kosakowski will play Georgia's Caroline Basu and Shadisha Robinson.

The Waves will also be competing in the Fall Desert Collegiate Classic in Palm Springs, California beginning November 3-6. Senior Natalie Braverman, junior Lise Sissler, sophomore Vanessa Dunlap and freshman Alicia Poladian will represent the Waves in singles play, while Dunlap and Poladian will play in doubles.
