QUICK HITS
Two weeks remain in West Coast Conference play and
Pepperdine tops the leaderboard with a 12-0 WCC record.
If second place San Diego drops its match to LMU on Saturday,
the Waves will have a chance to clinch the WCC title
in their Saturday matchup at Saint Mary's.
Pepperdine's Kim Hill earned her third WCC Player of the
Week honor and is the only student-athlete in the WCC to
earn Player of the Week on three occasions this season
and the first Wave to do so since Katie Wilkins achieved
the feat in 2003.
San Diego held steady at No. 21 in the latest AVCA top-
25 poll after posting a perfect 2-0 record this past week,
posting wins over Gonzaga and Portland. Against Gonzaga,
sophomore middle hitter Chloe Ferrari recorded her career-
high 21 kills on 32 swings, while only committing two
attack errors to post an impressive .562 attack percentage.
BYU is currently riding a four-match win streak to move
into third place in the WCC after picking up wins over LMU
and USF at home. In the four-set win over USF, Heather
Hannemann, Christie Carpenter and Jennifer Hamson
achieved double-doubles with Hannemann obtaining a
career-high 55 assists and 12 digs.
Saint Mary's improved to 7-6 after winning its last three
matches on the road and will be facing tough competition
at home this week as the Gaels host BYU and Pepperdine.
