Junior Emma Murphy (Cork, Ireland), last year's West Coast Conference Player of the Year and an NCAA Tournament participant, has received a west regional preseason ranking of 7th heading into the 2005 season. Murphy, who won the Flight A singles title at the San Diego State Fall Classic, also advanced to the round of 16 at the ITA West Regional. She teams up with Laura Kazarian in doubles where they received a west region ranking of 10th. Junior Lauren Perl (San Diego, CA) is ranked 24th in singles for the west region. The Toreros open their 2005 slate at home on January 29th against the Cal Bears (10 am).
