Three WCC Women's Volleyball Teams Ranked in AVCA Coaches Top 25

SAN BRUNO, Calif. --- West Coast Conference women's volleyball will continue on to its third week of play on Thursday, September 6 with Saint Mary's at Kansas State (5:00 PM PT).   • For the first time since 2007, BYU earned a top-25 ranking in the AVCA Division I Coaches Poll, coming in at No. 21, after defeating No. 14 Tennessee and No. 24 Colorado State last weekend to win the Shocker Volleyball Classic.

  • San Francisco had a record day last Saturday, as the Dons defeated No. 25 California, 3-2. The win was the first time the Dons have defeated the Bears in program history and also marked USF's head coach Gilad Doron's 77th victory, making him the school's all-time wins leader.

  • San Francisco's Jocelyn Levig, who became an All- Tournament Team member for the second weekend in a row, was named this week's WCC Volleyball Player of the Week after recording 43 kills (3.58 kills per set) and 24 digs in the Hawaiian Airlines Classic.

  • Portland overcame a 2-1 deficit against the UNLV Rebels to capture the Nike Portland Invitational Tournament title for the first time since 2004. Senior Ariel Usher led the Pilots with 20 kills and junior Autumn Wedan added 13. Wedan claimed tournament MVP honors as Portland swept the tournament field.

  • Saint Mary's swept all three opponents at the Sacramento State Invitational last weekend. Senior Lauren Corp was named Tournament MVP after averaging 4.62 kills per set, 1.5 digs per set and a .369 hitting percentage.

  • Down 10-12 in the fifth set, No. 12 Pepperdine scored five consecutive points to clinch the 3-2 triumph over Arizona to win the Pepperdine Asics Classic.
