SAN BRUNO, Calif. --- West Coast Conference women's volleyball will continue conference play this week on Thursday, October 13.
QUICK HITSNo. 19-ranked Pepperdine picked up a win at LMU and
a win at home against BYU to remain undefeated in WCC
matches. The win over LMU, part of the Wells Fargo PCH
Cup Series, was a three-setter while the win over BYU was
a close four-setter.
San Diego held steady at No. 17 in the latest AVCA top-
25 poll after posting another perfect week at 2-0 with
wins over Portland and Gonzaga. The Toreros are now on
a five-match win streak.
After having its five-match win streak broken by Portland
the previous week, San Francisco came back in its lone
match to defeat Bay Area rival Santa Clara in four sets. This is
the second straight time the Dons have beaten the Broncos,
improving to 6-0 on their home floor.
After a rough start to conference play, the Gaels picked
up two wins over Gonzaga and Portland at home to bring
their conference record to 2-4. The Gaels have now won
23 of their last 25 matches against the Pilots.
Entering the fourth week of conference play, Portland and
Saint Mary's will host "DigPink" matches to promote breast
cancer awareness and education.
LMU tallied a non-conference win over UC Santa Barbara
in a close five-set match. Senior Jasmine Rankins went for
20 kills on a .348 clip and 14 digs for a double-double.
