Lindsey Bogason, Saint Mary's
The senior outside hitter from Mill Valley, Calif. led Saint Mary's to two historical wins over Pepperdine and Loyola Marymount last weekend. The two victories were the first two road wins in school history over both teams, and the victories marked the first time in school history the Gaels have swept the season series from both teams. Bogason recorded a match-high 18 kills, a .317 hitting percentage, 12 digs, and four blocks against Pepperdine, while totaling a match-high 17 kills, a .293 hitting percentage, and four digs against Loyola Marymount. On the year, Bogason leads SMC with 3.71 kills per game, is third on the team in service aces per game with 0.25, and is fifth in digs per game and blocks per game with 1.97 and 0.70, respectively. Bogason currently ranks fourth in the WCC in kills per game, sixth in points per game, and 14th in hitting percentage. Saint Mary's is 8-1 in conference play and 19-2 overall, and currently sits in second place in the WCC.

Muratore Leads The Nation In Blocks
Santa Clara freshman middle blocker Annalisa Muratore leads the nation in blocks per game with 1.86, recording 14 solo blocks and 116 block assists over 70 games. Muratore has been among the nation's best for the majority of the season, but this marks the first time the freshman has been atop the list of leaders. This week's NCAA statistics include statistics through matches played on October 24. Muratore also ranks 20th in the nation in hitting percentage with a .391 clip. Santa Clara, as a team, ranks second in the nation in blocks per game with 3.52.
Saint Mary's Wins On The Road
Saint Mary's recorded two conference victories over Pepperdine and Loyola Marymount on the road last weekend. The two victories were the first two road victories in school history over both teams, and the victories marked the first time in school history the Gaels have swept the season series from Loyola Marymount and Pepperdine. The Gaels' three-game sweep of Pepperdine also marked the first time since 1994 that the Waves have been swept at home during a conference match. San Diego recorded the only other sweep of Pepperdine in Malibu in 1994.
WCC Victories Over Top 25
Pepperdine's victory over then-No. 12 UCLA last week marked the ninth time this season that a WCC team has knocked off a ranked opponent. It also marked the first time Pepperdine has beaten a ranked team in 10 tries. Loyola Marymount beat then-No. 13 UC Santa Barbara on Oct. 5, while Santa Clara swept California on Sept. 28. Saint Mary's beat then-No. 6 Stanford on Sept. 4 and again on Sept. 28 when the Cardinal were ranked No. 11. The Gaels also beat WCC opponent, then-No. 15 Santa Clara on Oct. 16. San Diego beat then-No. 17 Arizona on Sept. 4 and two WCC opponents, then-No. 12 Santa Clara and then-No. 14 Saint Mary's on Oct. 9 and Oct. 15, respectively.

Pepperdine at #19 UC Santa Barbara - Tuesday, November 2 at 7:00 pm
Pepperdine faces its second ranked non-conference opponent in as many weeks when it travels to Santa Barbara to take on No. 19 UCSB Tuesday night. The Waves upset then-No. 12 UCLA on the road last week, 3-2. The victory marked the first time this season Pepperdine has beaten a ranked opponent. The Waves swept the Gauchos, 3-0, in their last meeting in 2003, but UCSB leads the all-time series with Pepperdine 23-21. UC Santa Barbara is currently 16-3 overall and in first place in the Big West with an 11-2 conference record. The Gauchos are led by Janine Sandell (4.27 kpg, 2.89 dpg), Megan Blackshire (.394 hitting percentage), and Olivia Waldowski (1.28 bpg). UC Santa Barbara lost its only other match with a WCC opponent earlier in the year to Loyola Marymount, 3-1.
Loyola Marymount at Pepperdine - Friday, November 5 at 7:00 pm
Loyola Marymount travels to Malibu Friday night to take on WCC rival Pepperdine in conference action. The last time the two teams met in Los Angeles, LMU posted a 3-1 victory over the Waves. Pepperdine leads the all-time series 29-10, and holds a commanding 15-4 record at home against the Lions. LMU last won in Malibu in 2000 when it recorded a 3-1 victory. The two teams are separated by just one match in the WCC standings, with LMU at 5-4 and Pepperdine at 4-5 in conference play. Loyola Marymount is second in the WCC in service aces per game, third in hitting percentage and blocks per game, fourth in kills per game and assists per game, and seventh in digs per game. Pepperdine is first in the conference in digs per game, fourth in blocks per game, fifth in assists per game and kills per game, seventh in hitting percentage, and eighth in service aces per game.

San Diego heads up to the Bay Area to face WCC foe Santa Clara Saturday night in a key conference match. USD is currently undefeated in WCC matches with a 9-0 record, two matches ahead of 7-2 SCU. The last time the two teams met San Diego won at home 3-1, but Santa Clara leads the all-time series, 25-13, with a 15-4 record against the Toreros at home. San Diego leads the conference in hitting percentage, kills per game, assists per game and service aces, is third in digs per game, and seventh in blocks per game. USD also ranks third in the nation in kills per game, and fourth in the nation in assists per game. Santa Clara leads the WCC in blocks per game, is second in kills per game, hitting percentage and assists per game, is fifth in service aces, and sixth in digs per game. Gonzaga Bulldogs
Gonzaga dropped two home matches to two ranked WCC opponents last weekend, and have yet to win a WCC match this season...The Bulldogs were swept by first place San Diego, 3-0, and lost to Santa Clara, 3-1...Senior middle blocker Lauren Armas led the way for GU against USD, tallying seven kills, while freshman middle blocker Briawna Mueller recorded six kills and three blocks...The Bulldogs responded after the loss to the Toreros by playing well against Santa Clara, despite another loss...Junior outside hitter Lacey Bell and freshman outside hitter Becky Jones paced the GU offense against SCU finishing with nine kills each...Bell also chipped in 13 digs...Gonzaga hits the road for its final two-match roadtrip this weekend, as the Bulldogs will travel to the Bay Area to take on San Francisco and Saint Mary's...The Bulldogs lost to both opponents earlier in the season when both visited Spokane...USF knocked off Gonzaga, 3-1, while SMC downed GU in three games.

Loyola Marymount split the weekend set with San Francisco and Saint Mary's at home last weekend...The Lions were impressive in the 3-1 win over USF as four LMU players tallied double-digit kills...Senior middle blocker Kelli Nerison, freshman outside hitter Heather Hughes, freshman outside hitter Jania Motton, and junior middle blocker Dina DeBernardi combined for 52 kills...Hughes and senior setter Nicole Oehlman posted double-doubles...LMU then dropped a four-game match to Saint Mary's...Junior outside hitter Michelle Look recorded a career-high 28 digs, while four Lions tallied double-digit kills for the second straight match...Oehlman added another double-double against SMC...Loyola Marymount will travel to WCC rival Pepperdine this Friday night in its only match of the week...The Lions beat the Waves at home in their first meeting this season, 3-1.

Portland Pilots
Portland dropped two home WCC matches last weekend to two ranked opponents in Santa Clara and San Diego...The Pilots have lost 20 straight to the Broncos and 26 straight to the Toreros...Junior outside hitter Sara Vercruyssen and senior middle blocker Michelle Oakland led the Pilots with 10 kills a piece against Santa Clara...Junior setter Sheena Surplus recorded her fifth double-double of the year with 29 assists and 11 digs...Vercruyssen again led Portland with nine kills in the loss to San Diego...Sophomore outside hitter Murphy McClenhahan led the Pilots with 10 digs against the Toreros...Portland will travel to the Bay Area for its last WCC roadtrip this weekend to take on Saint Mary's and San Francisco...Portland has not won a match in the Bay Area against either school since 1998...The Pilots were swept by both teams earlier in the year in Portland.
